Dr Michelle Harris

BA (Mus), BMBS, FRANZCOG

Michelle has a particular interest in women’s health in regional and rural settings, in keeping with her background of working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Medecins Sans Frontieres prior to her specialist training. She completed her Registrar training in various regional centres in Queensland and the Northern Territory, before tumbling unexpectedly into a surgical fellowship with Professor Neville Hacker in Sydney. Here she was inspired to embark on subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology, also spending time at the Royal Marsden Hospital (London) working as a Pelvic Surgery Fellow, and training in robotic surgery. On returning to Australia she is looking forward to completing the CGO while pondering the best way to combine her gynaecology oncology training with her passion for going bush. And what to do with that pesky grand piano she’s been carting around?
